For over 25 years Jeff has worked in both the private and public sector focusing in the field of land use planning and real estate consulting. Prior to coming to Murrieta in early 2018 as the Development Services Department Director, Jeff was the Planning Director for the City of San Diego where he oversaw long-range planning, environmental services and facilities financing. Prior to San Diego, Jeff was the Planning Director for the City of Encinitas where he managed land development operations and developed an award winning approach to on-line public engagement for the City’s Housing Element Update.
Prior to his work with the City of Encinitas, Jeff served the County of San Diego beginning in 2000 in a progressive array of planning positions. He has overseen several land development divisions including watershed planning, advanced planning, regulatory planning, building, and the County Fire Authority; as well as comprehensive updates to the County’s General Plan and Multiple Species Conversation Program. Prior to joining the County, he was employed by KPMG in their consulting division for a number of years.
Jeff earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Cal Poly and a Master of Public Administration with an emphasis in city planning from SDSU. A native San Diegan, he currently lives in Clariemont with his wife and their two children.
