Duties

• Advises the city council and the director of parks and recreation on parks and public recreation
• Cooperates with other agencies and civic groups in advancement of park and recreation planning and programming
• Formulates policies on recreation services for approval by the city council
• Advises with the director on development of recreation areas and services, facilities and programs
• Recommends standards on organization, personnel, areas and facilities, programs and financial support
• Inventories existing and needed recreation services and interprets the needs of the public
• Advises the director on the departmental budget and capital improvement program

Pursuant to Government Code Section 54972, a Local Appointments list shall be prepared including regular and ongoing commissions whose members serve at the pleasure of the Murrieta City Council. Preceding is an open list of local appointive offices containing the incumbent appointees dates of appointment; dates terms expire, and the terms which will expire during the next calendar year. To be eligible for appointment to a commission, a person must: 1) be a full time resident of the City; and 2) not be an employee of the City .
